Publish Your Way FAQ
Publish Your Way is a hybrid model that provides authors with the best of both worlds. Instead of working with a vanity press where you are just another number, our customized PYW program authors through the entire publishing process from start to finish. Authors who are accepted as PYW Authors will receive the same one on one experience traditionally published authors experience such as marketing strategies, social media support, etc. as well as the benefits of being self published - such as the ability to develop and maintain your own branding, keep 100% of the proceeds of your book, and more. Q. By signing up for the Publish Your Way program will I be an UrbanEdge author?
A. No you will not be an UrbanEdge Author however based on your package selection you will be able to add your own personal logo or company brand identity.
Q. What are the benefits of doing Publish Your Way versus just publishing it myself or using a company like Create Space?
A. There are many unique benefits of the Publish Your Way program that will set you apart from other self published authors including but not limited to:

Q. What if I want to put my own logo on the book?
A. We are more than happy to accommodate this request however all designs should be professionally created and presented in high resolution for print quality.
Q. What if I haven’t had my book edited yet?
A. We offer different levels of editorial services ranging from simple proofing of your manuscript to developmental editing. Having a well-developed storyline and a thoroughly edited book speaks volumes to your own personal investment and is highly recommended.
Q. Will working with UrbanEdge guarantee that Barnes & Noble stocks my book?
A. There is no guarantee that any brick and mortar retailer will stock your book however we will submit a request for shelf space of your title. As you continue to build your brand, social media presence and sell books this visibility will increase your options.
Q. How long does this entire process take?
A. The process can range from 3-6 months and is heavily dependent upon the kind of package that is chosen and other factors such as any needed book edits and re-writes. Timelines can also be affected if the author delays providing information or completing necessary contractual tasks.
Q. What if something happens and I’m unable to finish this process after I’ve paid in full?
A. We will complete all contractual tasks from the publisher standpoint. Items that require the author’s input will be paused until the author is able to resume input up to 6 months. At that time the final formatted manuscript and any completed files will be handed over to close out the contract.
Q. What happens if, at some point in the process, I am unable to make the remaining payments?
A. Work completed is based upon a timeline that coincides with payments. At the point in which the author cannot make any remaining payments tasks will stop at the point in the timeline. After 6 months of inability to pay the contract is void and tasks completed to that point would be handed over to author.
